TMS info

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a proven non-drug treatment for those patients with depression who have not received adequate benefit from initial treatment with antidepressant medication.

Cleared by the FDA in 2008, this non-invasive outpatient therapy system has been used to treat over 12,000 patients, yielding clinically significant results in the labratory and in the real world!

Neurostar TMS therapy is also free of the adverse and systemic side effects commonly associated with drug treatments.

45-60 minute treatments take place right in our office. The session number and frequency can vary from patient to patient, but typically a patient will have treatments  5 days a week for at least 4 weeks.  You are awake and alert during your treatment, and can resume your normal activities immediately afterward.

Safety Information

NeuroStar TMS Therapy should not be used with patiens who have non-removable conductive metal in or near the head (with the exception of most dental work). The most common side effect is pain or discomfort at or near the treatment site. There is a rare risk of seizure associated with the use of TMS (1/30,000 treatments in controlled trials)
